Week 3 of the Woolly Wash-Along: Time to Scour!

Buckets ready? Water heating up? It’s finally here: scouring week!

Over the past two weeks, we’ve built a strong foundation: covering the basics of wool scouring, sharing helpful resources, and answering the most common beginner questions. Now it’s time to put all that knowledge into action and actually wash some wool together.

This week, you’ll see Greg and Sönna team up to scour fleece side by side. For Sönna, it’s her very first time scouring on her own. You’ll get to watch the process unfold in real time, complete with tips, encouragement, and a few “aha!” moments along the way. Since scouring often involves long soak times, we’ve condensed the video to 30 minutes, providing you with the essentials and lessons learned without the wait.

Your turn! Gather your supplies, fill up those buckets with hot water, and dive into your own wool washing session. As you scour, notice what excites you, what challenges pop up, and what new questions you discover.

And most importantly… share your experience with us!

  • Drop your photos and thoughts in the comments below.

  • Tell us how your scouring went. Was it smooth sailing or a little sudsy chaos?

  • Share any tips you found helpful or questions you still have.

This make-along is all about learning and celebrating together. Let’s cheer each other on, compare notes, and enjoy the process of turning raw fleece into something clean, soft, and ready for what comes next.

So, are you ready? Let’s get those fleeces cleaned together.
