Welcome to the

We’re here with you every step of the way during the Woolly Wash-Along. ​This is more than just a learning event — it’s a chance to make new fiber friends, share tips, and have fun while turning raw fleece into beautiful, clean wool.

Gather Your Supplies

Before we dive in, you’ll want to have a few basic tools on hand. Don’t worry, most of what you need is simple and easy to find, like buckets, hot water, and detergent. Having everything ready ahead of time makes the scouring process smoother and a lot more enjoyable.

Grab Your Fleece

Pick out a fleece you’d like to wash. Every fleece has something to teach you, and this is your chance to get hands-on experience. You might have a fleece that was gifted, or you might need to acquire some wool. At Plaid Perch Farm, we have put together small 4-oz. packs of wool that are perfect for beginners. We also offer a kit with scouring supplies.

Scouring Resources

To guide you through the process, we’ve put together a short video that covers the basics of scouring. You’ll see the steps in action and get helpful tips to make the wash-along feel approachable and stress-free. Watch at your own pace, and come back to it whenever you need a refresher. We will also curate some resources along the way to further your learning at your own pace.
